A Dove’s Nest
Releasing White Doves for life’s celebrations has been a tradition
all around the world for centuries. The pure white homing pigeons are descendents of the
rock dove, who returned to Noah’s ark with an olive branch to
give the family hope and the strength they needed to go on. The Greeks
domesticated these angels of the sky, and took great care of them in
their temples. Throughout the world many artists have captured their
beauty in art, and many journalists for centuries have written great
stories and poems to describe what they symbolize. The doves to me are
a symbol of pure love as they glide though the skies with such grace.
I can’t
describe the feeling that comes over me as I see the white doves take
to the sky. I always look at the audience when the birds perform. The
look on their faces are priceless.
