Charlie
and I are from New Orleans. We have been married for over 30 years with four children and two grandchildren. We
moved to Atlanta in 1984 on a music contract and have performed as a hotel and lounge act for over 25 years as the duo
“Easy Street”. A little band from the big easy. We retired from the music business in 2006. We still
enjoy playing music with family and friends.
A
Dove’s Nest was founded in 2004 as a white dove release and dove display service.
While on vacation from a very physical
job as a baker, I spent the week full of aches and pains asking myself , ”What else could I possibly do”? Feeling
despair during my long awaited vacation lying on an ice pack, I had a dream I was releasing a white dove over a pasture of
green grass and wildflowers. I wanted to share this experience with others so, my husband, Charlie who has been raising birds
since childhood turned my dream into reality. We continue to have a successful dove release business in the Atlanta metro
area.
Wedding Coordinator and Event Planning
was added to our services in 2007.
In New Orleans,
events and celebrations are a way of life. My background as a musician and singer gives me an edge in staging and performance.
Lights, action and here comes the bride are a natural part of my life. I have a strong background in management and customer service. Managing employees in the restaurant business for over ten years has given me the ability
to manage details, strong organizational skills and the patience that is needed in the wedding business. For many years I
was responsible for balancing profit and loss statements. This skill is a great benefit to the bride and groom’s
budget.
While working with brides through my dove release service, I realized the need the brides had for wedding planning
guidance. I began to attend seminars and networking with the other wedding professionals and have made many friends
in the business, such as florists, caterers, bakers, photographers, officiates, transportation, formal wear and musicians.
The love
for the business grew very quickly. I became very serious and dedicated to the business of wedding planning. I received certification through
The Wedding Planning Institute in 2007. The Institute is dedicated to the highest standards of business fundamentals and continuing education.
My business knowledge
and talent for stage performance gives me the experience I need for planning any special occasions with over the top
expectation for the family and friends.
Charlie and I both enjoy releasing doves and planning events.
We love what we do and it shows.
